Connor McDavid is so good he can even win fans in enemy territory.
The Edmonton Oilers center flipped a puck into the stands, making one fan’s night before their game against the host Pittsburgh Penguins at PPG Paints Arena on Wednesday.
McDavid made eye contact with the fan clad in a jersey for Erie of the Ontario Hockey League, McDavid’s junior team, which plays about 120 miles north of Pittsburgh. McDavid tossed the puck over the glass to the fan, who initially dropped it, and kept an eye out to make sure his pass was received.
The joyous fan almost didn’t know what to do with himself, but it is surely a moment he won’t forget. For McDavid, it was another high-profile fan encounter that elicited a priceless reaction.
